I came across the latest survey from Job of the Week (JOTW) which looked at what was happening in B2B Communications.

The top 5 trends were

  1. Storytelling is the most important tactic
  2. Press releases and white papers are becoming less important in communication strategies
  3. Organic Social Media is getting harder generate great results
  4. Paid social media and corporate blogging are becoming more important
  5. Web analytics are become the top tool used by communication professionals

What does this all mean for a salesperson?

PR people have just learned what we all knew, telling relevant stories really engages customers and to generate high quality leads you need more than than just a white paper it needs to be a comprehensive multi touch campaign using multiple media and analytics.
